Description
2-inch netpots are a perfect fit for leafy plants and small plants that require less root space and due to their small height, they do not need much support as well. A 50mm hole size is required for this netpot.
2″ Netpots are compatible with-
- Germination Media (particularly made for seed germination) – 30mm cocodisc, small & standard grow cubes, cocopeat, vermiculite, and perlite.
- Growing Media (meant for growing mature plants) – clayballs ( 8-15 mm floating) and 2-10 mm clay balls non-floating.
- with No Media One can raise a semi-matured & wide plant (i.e. 75% grown) even without a growing medium in 2-inch netpots.
- NFT Channels – 2-inch netpots is best suited for NFT Channels with the following specifications-
- 100x60mm NFT Channels – directly with 0 water level as the depth is less so the roots will get easily dipped in the solution.
- 100x80mm NFT Channels – You can use a 2-inch netpot in a 100x80mm channel also by following the late transplantation technique (when the root elongation begins). As the depth is more in this channel so the root will have to be elongated enough to touch the nutrient solution. And in the case of early transplantation, manual watering is suggested for the initial days to prevent drying.
- Round pipe – 63mm & 75mm Round PVC pipe
- WE do not recommend using 2″ regular netpots with the Dutch Buckets.
- It goes well with a Hydroponics raft with a 50mm hole size
- Use 2″ netpots to create some amazing DIY Hydroponics Systems.
Netpots are pots having a net-like structure with multiple holes that are specially designed to foster the roots and provide support to the plant. It holds the growing media in such a way that the roots receive optimum air and nutrition. When kept in an NFT system, they allow nutrient solution to flow freely, and the roots are directly suspended in the liquid facilitating the nutrient uptake. The roots after getting elongated come out from the holes and form a dense mesh of healthy roots. Undoubtedly, it promotes healthier and bigger root growth that absorbs more nutrition and moisture. It fits with all the plants grown in soilless cultivation. Depending upon the root density, length, and required plant support choosing the right netpot is always necessary; like in the case of heightened plants go for extended netpots and for bushy/fruit plants choose a wide netpot.
Area of Application-
Net Pots are widely used for propagating plants by cuttings, creating nurseries for plants, in aeroponics, deep water culture, flood and drain, drip feed systems, and NFT or for your own homemade/DIY system. Even in traditional gardening, you can grow plants in Netpots from. the germination stage and transplant them into the soil later. Handling becomes easy with netpots.
